Statement of Solidarity from “Ireland in Arabic” with the Civil Society Alliance in Support of Refugees and Asylum Seekers’ Rights

“Ireland in Arabic” expresses its full solidarity with the alliance of 22 civil society organizations that launched key recommendations aimed at protecting the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland.

We stand by these recommendations, which focus on:

• Combating homelessness and improving reception conditions for protection applicants.
• Strengthening the right to seek asylum and ending punitive policies.
• Building effective communication with communities to counter misinformation.
• Supporting integration and facilitating the transition of refugees into local communities.
• Protecting children and youth in the international protection process.
• Developing a clear plan for Ukrainian refugees after the end of temporary protection.

These recommendations provide a roadmap toward improving the conditions of refugees and safeguarding their dignity and rights. We call on the government and all political parties to commit to implementing these recommendations in their electoral programs and in any negotiations to form the next government.

Together, we can build a just and inclusive society where everyone can live with dignity and peace.
