Ireland in Arabic Earns Spot on the Carmichael Good Governance Awards Shortlist!

We’re delighted to share that Ireland in Arabic has been shortlisted for the 2024 Carmichael Good Governance Awards. This recognition is a tremendous honor for our team, volunteers, and every member of our community who supports our mission.

The Good Governance Awards, developed by Carmichael with support from partners and leading national bodies within the non-profit sector, celebrate excellence in governance and accountability across Irish non-profits. Now in their eighth year, these awards recognize organizations that demonstrate integrity, transparency, and high ethical standards in how they operate. Being shortlisted is a testament to our commitment to delivering a responsible and trustworthy service for Arabic-speaking migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers across Ireland.

What the Good Governance Awards Represent

The Carmichael Good Governance Awards emphasize the critical role of governance in Irish non-profits by:

  • Acknowledging, encouraging, and promoting strong governance practices, particularly through annual reports and transparency initiatives.
  • Supporting non-profits in using their annual reports and financial statements to demonstrate commitment to ethical standards and transparency.
  • Providing practical examples to other organizations of high-quality director’s reports and financial statements.

Good governance is more than an annual report or a set of policies; it’s a framework that ensures organizations are managed with accountability, transparency, and focus on their mission. For Ireland in Arabic, good governance means every decision we make, every euro we spend, and every step we take is guided by our commitment to empowering and supporting Arabic-speaking communities in Ireland.

Why This Recognition Matters

Good governance is fundamental for building trust and ensuring that our work has a lasting impact. For Ireland in Arabic, this recognition serves as a reminder of our responsibility to represent our community with transparency, fairness, and respect. Being shortlisted is an honor and a reminder of our commitment to these values.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Carmichael and the panel of judges for this honor. Special thanks to our supporters, whose trust inspires us every day. We wish all shortlisted organizations the best of luck and look forward to the announcement of the winners on November 21st, 2024.
